I took my first yoga class in college in the early 2000’s and all I can remember about it is that I always fell asleep in savasana, the resting post at the end of every class. A workout that ended with a nap sounded pretty good to me!

My true passion is yoga and fitness. I believe that fitness is a way of life and should be a routine just as waking up in the morning. I've learned that keeping your mind and body in sync is most important to having good health. My dream to help others continues to be a reality. My experience in Yoga and Personal training allows me to encourage people to take those steps necessary to lead a long and healthy life.Yoga has changed my life in so many ways. My love for Yoga started back when I was a senior in college. I’d heard about how powerful Yoga was and decided to give it a shot. It was then that I knew that I’d found the perfect medication! I started sleeping better, my back and shoulder pain lessened with each day of practice, and I was approaching life with more intention by being grounded, compassionate, and calm. From that moment on, Yoga became a constant factor in my life, and it only took a few teacher training courses before I knew what I was intended to do – Teach Yoga. I have been teaching yoga since 2008.

I began my journey after many years of swimming, working out at the gym, and running, which was taking it's toll on my body.  I began a daily practice and found ny body and mind free, at ease, and connected. I soon felt deeply in my heart that I wanted to teach and found my yoga home and completed teacher training at Blue Anjou, where I am now the director and owner of the studio and Blue Anjou Teacher Training Programs.  I am passionate about teaching and love to share with my students a vibrant and uplifting experience that is also nurturing, warm, and compassionate.

In 2004 I started my yoga practice after the birth of my second child. I found it to be the perfect "exercise" for my body and mind to balance the busyness of raising a family. I began sharing my practice with children and teens in 2011 at Yogikids/FitFamily studio and area schools. Through stories, games and music we learn that yoga is a calming, centering, and strengthening practice that we can use our whole life.
