My first experience with yoga was a Rodney Yee VHS in my living room around the age of fourteen. My mother had been injured in a car accident and yoga was suggested to aid her recovery. I was hooked immediately. The inner sense of calm it gave me was incomparable to anything else I had experienced. Since then, my understanding has deepened and I've learned to connect to my body in a whole new way. Yoga has taught me the power of breathing, the method of using meditation in my movement, and how to harness love and positivity in my thoughts.

Maggie discovered yoga in 2000 after recovering from surprise surgery and an auto accident. A consistent, traditional hatha yoga practice helped facilitate her healing and transformed her into a person with a passion for yoga of all kinds. A 2005 graduate of Purple Lotus Yoga, Maggie served as Assistant Director for two years prior to establishing the school’s first affiliate program in 2008. Maggie also co-wrote and co-directed the school’s 500HR training program before establishing Yoga-Gate.
Maggie has earned two 200 hour and two 500 hour certifications. Her credentials are as follows:
Theresa has been teaching and leading yoga retreats since 2004. She has trained primarily with Baron Baptiste and has also studied with Ana Forest, Rod Stryker, Seane Corn, and Judith Lasater among others. In order to keep her teaching fresh and inspiring, she practices almost daily at Samatone Yoga by DPYP. In addition, she attends yoga conventions and workshops throughout the year.
Aminda is an E-RYT 200 Instructor, Certified in Anjali Restorative Yoga, Vinyasa(power) and Yin Yoga with Yoga Nidra, Therapeutic Yoga and Jivamukti training. (member of both YA and IAYT) She is also a Clinically Certified Transpersonal Hypnotherapist, Thai Yoga Masseuse, and Reiki Master with ongoing studies as an Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist and in Para Yoga.
I started practicing in 2007 when I was in my last year of college. I was looking for an inexpensive way to take the edge off my stress level while I was working full time and trying to finish my BFA.
I fell in love with yoga and with the idea of the mind/body connection and decided in 2010 to become an instructor. So, I dove into Teacher Training at Blue Anjou at the 200 hour level and then right back in for the 500 in 2011.
