I fell in love with yoga after taking my first class at a local YMCA many years ago. Family and career interrupted regular practice until I retired from the corporate world to nurture my love of practicing and teaching yoga. I believe yoga is a bright path that has the power to change who we are from an emotional, spiritual and physical level. It is no wonder that yoga is gaining respect with the traditional medical community, and today many physicians not only recommend but prescribe yoga for their patients!
I have been an official student of yoga since 1994 (studying with a teacher), but spent the prior decade "doing" yoga from a book. I completed my 200hr in general Hatha program, and I completed my 500hour Professional Yoga Therapist Certificate (PYT-RYT)) with Joseph LePage/Integrative Yoga Therapy, and am presently enrolled in my 1000hr PYT internship.

In my early 20’s, studying consciousness, I came upon a book: Be Here Now by Ram Dass, which truly blew my mind wide open. This introduced me to yoga as a life path. Yoga has changed my life in so many ways. It has taught me to be healthier, happier, and take care of myself and others. After studying and practicing yoga for several years, I decided to follow my heart and become a teacher. I could not imagine my life without yoga. I am truly following my bliss.

I began my yoga journey in the 1990’s with a love of books on meditation and pranayama. I have been blessed to learn from many great teachers taking tools and words of wisdom from each experience. I am grateful for those teachers and offer them my humble gratitude.

A lifelong passion for physical fitness and curious pursuit of the motivation behind human behavior brought me to yoga. The yogic message that "you are where you are and it's ok" and the non-competitive nature of the practice mesmerized me. And it was stunning to me that by embracing this mindset and continuing to practice, I could grow and go further than I ever imagined on and off the mat. Letting go, breathing, and laughing was all I need to do.
