Yoga for the Heart presented by Shari Friedrichsen
Friday, February 17, 2012 - Saturday, February 18, 2012
The Mat Yoga Studio
$40 per workshop or $100 for all three
In the collective world as well as our personal life we are faced with grief, losses, heartaches, brokenness and misunderstandings about the heart. Our hearts are hurting and we need to find a way to listen, find the wisdom and compassion that is inherently ours, and allow our hearts to heal. To do this we will use postures and breathing that specifically address the heart itself as well as those structures within us that support the heart. We will work on the physical level and the subtle level. This class is not a substitute for medical care or medications, but can supplement your knowledge and caring for your own heart. It can inspire you to strengthen your relationship with your heart and yourself, therefore giving you a foundation to live more heart centered and heart healthy in the world.
Shari has been teaching yoga for over 34 years. Her unique approach draws on her personal practice as well as her studies with world renowned teachers such as Pandit Rajmani Tigunait, Sri Karunamayi, and BKS Iyengar. She is considered to be an expert in working with subtle body anatomy. Shari currently is a senior faculty member at the Himalayan Institute.
