Priya Jhawar
Priya Jhawar teaches classes in the Ashtanga tradition. At a young age, Priya became fluent in Hindi, studied classical Sanskrit texts, such as the Bhagavad Gita, and started to learn about yoga philosophy. Priya began to cultivate an asana practice (the physical postures of yoga) when she went off to law school in 2001.
Throughout law school and in her career as a litigation attorney, Priya found yoga to provide the relief she needed from the daily stress of her job. Later, when a serious ankle injury required major surgery and intensive physical therapy, she again found her yoga practice to be the greatest healing agent of all. After much thought, Priya decided to give up a stressful career as a lawyer to help others realize the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of yoga.
She is passionate about sharing this wonderful practice with others as she continues along her own yogic journey with the help of fellow teachers and students.
