Brian and Kendall invite you to join them in Costa Rica for a week to
remember. Embark on this fun and exciting adventure, free from everyday
pressures — a place to explore and restore. Flowing, fun, vinyasa yoga classes — vigorous at times and restorative at others! Each day you will be embracing breath, movement, nature and the freshest, most inspirational rainforest mountain air. Together Brian and Kendall bring to their students an energetically powerful and inspirationally flowing practice. Accepting of all levels of yoga practice, Brian and Kendall are attentive and encouraging.

Brian entered the path of yoga in 1995; previously, he was a Broadway dancer touring both nationally and internationally with numerous shows. For the past 11 years he has been a Personal Fitness Trainer, teaching a variety of interrelated movement and flexibility classes. Brian began giving instruction in yoga asana in 1999 and continues to study and be inspired by many teachers, most notably Shiva Rae, Rodney Yee, Donna Holleman, and Rod Stryker.

Kendall was first introduced to ashtanga yoga in college over 20 years ago. She continues in her study and practice and has been greatly influenced and affected by many masters such as Ana Forrest, Manju Jois, Beryl Bender Birch, Seane Corn, Erich Shiffmann, Baron Baptiste and many more. Kendall has been teaching since 2002, recently received her 200 hour registered yoga teacher certification with Yoga Alliance and Priya Yoga and has participated in Baron Baptiste's teacher training. As local Dallas teachers, Kendall and Brian find that they inspire and enhance each other's practice and skills.

After your arrival and check in, we will gather our first evening for a healthy buffet meal and meet briefly to discuss the week and introduce the schedule.

The Week — Sunday through Friday:

Your Yoga Journey is suitable for all levels of students who are willing and enthusiastic to explore the blending of yoga asana practice and the beautiful natural surroundings of a rain forest mountain top retreat.

Included in Your Yoga Journey: round trip airport shuttle, three healthy buffet style meals each day (Sunday—Friday) made from only the freshest ingredients, your choice of enchanted spacious comfortable accommodations, two daily yoga classes for five days, and a fun all-day trip to Punta Leone Beach with one yoga class, incorporating yoga as a synthesis of sand, body-mind, and sea.

Additional amenities: Pura Vida Spa has a mountainside pool and Jacuzzi, gift shop, and honor bar. Included in your package are three wonderfully prepared buffet-style meals on each full day. However, the nearest stores are located 20 minutes from the spa. We recommend bringing your own snacks and energy bars if you anticipate needing them.

Optional activities: Pura Vida Spa will have extra treats for your body and soul available by appointment, including a wide variety of massage, glows, wraps, masks, and much more. The Pura Vida spa also offers evening programs such as drumming, salsa dancing, workshops on massage and more. For the real outdoor enthusiast Pura Vida has optional eco adventure and sight seeing tours, including visits to waterfalls, volcanos, canopy adventures and much more.

WHAT TO BRING:
A current passport is now required to enter Costa Rica.
Expiration date no less than 90 days from date of departure back home.

Pura Vida Spa does not accept credit cards. All fees for spas or tours not included in Your Yoga Journey require payment in cash or travelers check. You may want to bring cash for such things as souvenirs, shopping, massage sessions and optional excursions.

LOCATION:
Pura Vida Spa is located on a spectacular private 12-acre mountainside estate in Costa Rica's Alajuela province, just 20 minutes from the international airport in San Jose. When making your travel arrangements, you will want to fly into San Jose. Once you have arranged your flights, please let us know your arrival and departure times so that we can make sure that your airport transfers to and from the spa are confirmed.
