Throughout history, many
of the world's most prominent figures have accessed a sacred
space from which they derived great power, wealth, skill,
genius, and strength. This sacred space is The Present
Moment. In this four day intensive with Yahoo's Mind-Body
Expert David Romanelli and Living Yoga Dallas's Kendall
Inman, you will learn about the power of The Moment and
how to access this power through flowing yoga, great music,
delicious Vosges Chocolate, soothing wine, and ancient
wisdom from the sacred texts. The physical part of yoga
is only the tip of the iceberg. If you love the natural
high of a yoga class, imagine how good you'll feel by indulging
the full body of knowledge dating back 5,000 years.
You will finish this experience with a better
understanding of how to apply the practice, science, and
benefits of yoga to your daily life. Most importantly,
you will realize that by digging deeper into The Moment,
you become a wealthier soul leading a more inspired life.
ABOUT KENDALL:
Kendall Inman is our own Dallas living legend. She founded Living Yoga Dallas
in 2003 and has brought the world’s finest yoga teachers here to
enhance and expand the practice of yoga for the community. Not only
has she brought those teachers to Dallas but she has studied with yoga
masters from all over the world such as Rod Stryker, Ana Forrest, Pattabhi
and Manju Jois, Tim Miller, Beryl Bender Birch, Seane Corn, Erich Shiffmann,
Baron Baptiste, Sharon Gannon and David Life, Saul David Raye, Bryan
Kest, Sarah Powers, Richard Freeman, Blair Lewis, Judith Lasater and
many more.
Kendall was first introduced to ashtanga yoga
in college over 20 years ago and has been teaching in both
Mexico and Dallas since deciding to help build the yoga
community here. She received her 200 hour registered yoga
teacher certification with Yoga Alliance and Priya Yoga
and has well over 500 hours of study with the masters.
Kendall's vinyasa flow classes are accessible
to all levels of practice yet vigorous, and challenging,
with special attention to breath and alignment. She is
especially interested in encouraging her students to connect
movement with breath, calm and steady the mind and create
a dynamic energetically enhancing experience.
ABOUT
DAVID:
David Romanelli, Yahoo’s Mind-Body Expert,
is co-founder of At One Yoga, a chain of state-of-the art
yoga studios in Arizona. A pioneering effort in the national
yoga scene, At One Yoga fuses Western culture's fashion,
music and technology with Eastern culture's sacred rituals
and ancient tradition. David drew from this experience
when creating a unique approach to yoga that would enable
its continued growth especially to previously untapped
segents of the population. Yeah Dave Yoga is David’s
innovative combination of exercise, inspiring spirituality,
and great music ranging from Frank Sinatra to the Grateful
Dead.
David now tours the country presenting
the Yoga + Chocolate experience which he created with good
friend and Vosges Haut-Chocolat founder Katrina Markoff.
Yoga + Chocolate demonstrates the enhanced power, perception
and sensory awareness experienced in The Moment. Oprah
Magazine listed Yoga + Chocolate on a short list of “What’s
Hot in Yoga in 2007.” Just recently, David introduced
the Yoga + Wine experience which was featured as a cover
story in The New York Times.
David teaches daily yoga class at Exhale in Santa Monica,
California.
THE
WORKSHOP:
Each of the four days will include a sweaty, vinyasa flow class to get
the juices moving before David and Kendall teach the following:
CHAKRAS
According to the chakra system, you must water the roots and
the leaves in order to nourish your being. By embracing the message inherent
in each chakra, you will be more settled in your purpose, more inspired
by your passion, and more open to life's full spectrum of emotion. A
vibrant spirit not only restores health to the body but adds depth and
space to the present moment. You will explore the 7 chakras thru the
things you love most…yoga, chocolate, wine, and music.
RELAXATION TECHNIQUES
True Relaxation leads to Realization. When we experience deep sleep we
reach states of unconscious mental activity where we enhance our
vital energy. This energy nourishes our spiritual, psychological
and physical level of being while enhancing mental stability.
You will explore techniques such as diaphragmatic
breathing, alternate nostril breathing and the ancient
relaxation technique known as Yoga Nidra to help you relieve
stress, sink deeply into the Moment, and sleep better at
night.
STRENGTH
Strength is often associated with brute force and big muscles. But a
different form of strength is necessary to hold the moment. You will
study how Michael Jordan tapped a rare spiritual strength described
in the Bhagavad Gita. You will learn how Einstein and Mozart utilized
the brain to hone their genius. You will discover how Mother Theresa
soothed a nation by opening her heart. These three strengths (spiritual,
mental, and emotional) are the keys to unlocking the power of The
Present Moment.
THE LAW OF ATTRACTION
The next frontier is not outer space but the vast mystery inside your
noggin called the brain. You will learn how yoga helps to direct
and focus mental activity so that you can harness the tremendous
power of the subconscious mind. Now made famous in THE SECRET, the
law of attraction will be a featured topic. The Greek root of the
word “sin” means “to miss.” If we miss the
moments, the law of attraction is nothing more than fool’s
gold. If we hold the moment, we give the universe a chance to respond
to our thoughts, dreams, and prayers.
ALIGNMENT AND BREATH
The Yoga Sutras describe asana as being both firm and soft. The art of “relaxed
effort” not only improves your yoga practice but will enhance your
approach to everyday challenges. You will explore a more efficient application
of force as well as proper alignment in asana. “Alignment” in
a yoga pose is metaphorical to alignment with your purpose, passion,
and truth.
MUSIC
The lyrics, rhymes and rhythms of your favorite songs are gateways into
deeply present moments full of passion, power, and healing. You will
explore the healing effects of music ranging from Hip-Hip to hippy
jambands to country.
