A state-of-the-art
facility known internationally as an outstanding rehearsal
production center, the Rehearsal Halls for the Dallas
Opera Center feature raised hardwood floors, are individually
climate controlled and acoustically sounded to perfection.
This 69,000 square foot facility, which opened
in 1998, is one of the premier facilities of its type in the
world. The Staging Rehearsal Hall is 88' x 52.6', the Dance
Staging Hall is 57' x 41', and the Orchestra Rehearsal Hall
is 56.6' x 53'. The facility also houses showers, large restrooms,
telephones and 300 parking spaces.
The Dallas Opera Rehearsal Center
is located near downtown Dallas, just outside of Fair Park
near The Smirnoff Center, at 4301 South Fitzhugh Avenue.
Directions - Traveling
East on I-30 (provided by KRPC):
Take the 2nd Avenue exit. Veer right
on Robert Cullum. Fair Park will be on the left. Proceed east
on Robert Cullum, passing McDonald's and Minyards on your
right. Get in your left hand lane. Turn left on South Fitzhugh
Avenue. An iron fence enclosing the Starplex parking lot will
be to the left. After the fence comes to an end, turn left
onto Gaisford. The Production Center is the grey building
with a maroon stripe, which will be on your immediate right.
Make an immediate right into the Production Center's parking
lot. Drive around the building and park your car in the northeast
parking lot. Enter through the double doors on the northeast
side of the building.
Directions - Traveling
West on I-30 (provided by KRPC):
Take the East Grand exit. Turn left on
East Grand Avenue. Travel under the bridge for I-30. Turn
left on Barry Avenue. Barry Avenue will change its name to
Crosstown Expressway, then change its name again to South
Fitzhugh Avenue just past Haskel Avenue. As your top the old
Santa Fe Railroad bridge, The Production Center is the grey
building with a maroon stripe on your right at the bottom
of the hill. Turn right onto Gaisford, and then take an immediate
right into the Production Center's parking lot. Drive around
the building and park your car in the northeast parking lot.
Enter through the double doors on the northeast side of the
building.
