THE
WORKSHOP:
This workshop is referred to as a "Joyful Asana Dance
Going On In Your Heart and Mouth." Understanding the
Sanskrit Alphabet and deepening your knowledge of the Yoga
of Sound begins by recognizing the intention of one’s
breath.
Friday evening will involve a guided meditation
followed by a playful flow of breath energy directed to the
5 mouth positions. Followed by an introduction to the most
resonant sounds: the Sanskrit vowels. An introduction to 'Om'
& the Yoga of sound will launch us into an inspirational
weekend.
Saturday will continue with a playful exploration
of topic 'Om' the sound of silence, as we move into developing
our knowledge of the compound vowels in this dynamic flow
of pranic alignment. We will allow our awareness to guide
us on a journey through the consonants, to a deeper understanding
of their physiological, psychological and spiritual components.
Sunday will involve a guided meditation which
includes an exploration of commonly chanted mantras. A playful
approach to sound, exploring the alternation of breath expression,
moving into combining consonants and vowels where students
will partner up together to work on sharing their insights
and reading words.
Sunday afternoon our final session is offered
to open to the heart through Sacred sound and Silence. We
will gather together to explore and celebrate what it means
to be in harmonious alignment with sound vibration and experience
what it means to open to the grace of Sanskrit through Pranic
Intention.
This dynamic weekend is devoted to the exploration
of The Sanskrit Alphabet and the Yoga of Sound within. It
is open to all levels.
We will use meditation, visualization, and
reflection to facilitate an inner spiritual journey and to
reflect the outer manifestation of sacred sound: The Sanskrit
Alphabet — This balance of inner and outer, opens us
to greater self confidence, understanding sound as a healing
modality, and our own inherent Self awareness.
"Sanskrit is a living tradition. One
must come to experience these mantras within as one's own
heart, as the pulsation of life, as profound silence…
once this is felt the outer mantras have great meaning."
