THE WORKSHOP:
A Weekend of Yoga, Healing and Thai Yoga Massage
Dancing with the Sun and Moon / Yoga as Alchemy

Join Saul and Dave for an unforgettable experience and transformational journey into the heart of yoga — an experience that will nourish your body, awaken your heart and lift your spirit. These Yoga classes with Saul will focus on deepening the art of Yoga as a healing practice. He will work with techniques to awaken and balance the life energy in the body. This will calm and focus the mind and open the heart. You will gain a deeper understanding of the foundations of Yoga on all levels of practice.

Friday early evening will start off our weekend workshop involving a mixed level yoga class joining together body, breath, mind and spirit. An energizing and invigorating yoga practice open to all levels.

After a short break the workshop will continue with an introduction into Thai Yoga Massage partner practice.

Thai Yoga massage is an ancient and sacred system of healing with roots in Yoga, Ayurvedic medicine and Buddhist Spiritual practice. This unique system of Yoga therapy combines rhythmic massage, acupressure, deep stretching, gentle twisting, energy work and meditation. This work creates a powerful release of stress and tension, an increase in vital energy and well being. It deepens the connection between, mind, body and spirit for both the giver and receiver.

This Friday evening session will be a guided journey through giving and receiving, a healing and relaxing Thai Yoga massage session, to release tension, increase vitality and lift your spirit. Sign up with a friend or come alone. We will work comfortably clothed on yoga mats on the floor. This workshop is open to everyone, designed to conclude our opening evening in a fun and comforting environment.

Saturday morning will open with an invigorating and energizing Yoga class open to all levels. A wonderful way to begin your Saturday getting in touch with our body, mind and spirit.

Saturday afternoon will be devoted to learning a simplified form of a full body Thai Yoga Therapy session including rhythmic massage, stretching, theory, acupressure of energy lines (nadis) and principles of energetic healing. No prior massage or Yoga experience is necessary. We will work comfortably clothed on mats on the floor. Sign up with a friend or come alone. This workshop is open to everyone. Great for Yogi's, massage therapists and anyone sincerely interested in Yoga, healing and bodywork!

Saturday evening will offer a very special separate musical concert with internationally acclaimed singer Dave Stringer and his band Japa.

Sunday morning will wrap up this incredibly inspiring, informational and awakening weekend with a Yoga class open to all levels. It will also prove to be invigorating, challenging and nourishing to the body mind and spirit.

About this Presenter:

Saul David Raye has been a devoted student of Yoga, meditation and the healing arts for over 15 years. He has been blessed with the opportunity to live and study with many great master teachers from different traditions. He directs the Thai Yoga Therapy Teacher Training Program at the White Lotus Foundation in Santa Barbara, California and leads Yoga workshops, teacher trainings and retreats around the world.

Saul is also co-founder of the Sacred Movement Center in Los Angeles where he teaches public classes and has a private Yoga therapy practice. The Sacred Movement Center offers classes taught by many of the nationally and internationally recognized instructors in the United States today. Saul is known for his inspiring, heart -centered approach to teaching, which allows healing and transformation to arise naturally.

Dave Stringer was trained as a visual artist and jazz musician, and developed as a Kirtan singer under the guidance of many great teachers. He is spontaneous, and he is articulate speaking with a simplicity and wit that will touch the hearts and souls of us all.

Dave will join Saul through-out the weekend with music and chanting. The simple use of the human voice has an amazing capacity to put us in touch with our inner most selves. As a natural extension of Yoga, chanting can empty our minds and free our hearts.
