Genevieve is Registered with the Yoga Alliance as an ERYT 500, Children’s Yoga Teacher (RCYT) and a Prenatal Yoga Teacher (RPYT). She is also a certified Professional Yoga Therapist (PYT) with Integrative Yoga Therapy (IYT) and a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists. In addition to IYT, her training includes, but is not limited to, 1000hr Internship with Joseph Le Page, Functional Yoga Therapy (Maria Mendola), Adaptive Yoga (Matthew Sanford), Therapeutic Adaptive Yoga for MS (Karen Clarke), Restorative Yoga (Judith Lasater), Spinal Integration (Donna Farhi), Anatomy Trains Myofacial studies (KMI) for movement therapists (Tom Myers), Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy, Svastha Yoga with Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandarim in Chennai India, Somatics (Eleanor Criswell), Vipassana Meditation, Mindfulness, Holistic Nutrition and Reiki. Her professional background as an environmental research scientist (biochemistry) in the University system, before transitioning to full-time Yoga Therapy practice is evident in her approach to yoga therapy. Her teaching serves as an accessible bridge between the ancient teachings of Yoga and modern medical sciences. Genevieve is the Director of Sundara’s Integrative Yoga Therapy 200hr Teacher Trainingin Austin, Texas, and is a Faculty member of the 500hr & 800hr Professional Yoga Therapy programs with Integrative Yoga Therapy. Genevieve is the Founder/Director of The Overcome Anxiety Project, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that offers training to those who serve underserved communities as well as facilitates the very successful Overcoming Anxiety Clinic: A Holistic and Natural Approach. Her TIYT work is extensive, with a primary concentration in addiction/chemical dependancy, cancer care, Alzheimer’s/Dementia, care-takers, pulmonary rehabilitation, and cardiac rehabilitation. Genevieve has five grown children and resides in Austin with her husband (Bob).
