Julie comes from a strong athletic background and a lifelong passion for health and wellness. Formally practicing yoga since 2009, she has studied primarily with her beloved Teacher, Yogarupa Rod Stryker, internationally renowned master teacher of Tantra-Hatha yoga and meditation, founder of ParaYoga, and author of The Four Desires: Creating a Life of Purpose, Happiness, Prosperity, and Freedom, since 2011. She is honored and humbled to be an initiate of the Sri Vidya Tradition and Himalayan lineage since 2012.
Julie’s vision as a Certified ParaYoga Teacher, 500hr RYT and Certified Ayurveda Lifestyle Counselor (NAMA recognized) is to assist clients of all levels in moving beyond the traditional Western approach to health and wellness. She aims to share with her students the practical, easily accessible, effective methodologies to gaining a richer, more authentic practice of yoga that can be applied to all areas of life. Her main message that she hopes students walk away with is that yoga is not just about asana. Yoga is about cultivating greater self-awareness, and in the process, remembering one’s own intrinsic, true nature and essence; growing one’s own unique, radiant power, and living a life of both worldly and spiritual fulfillment that is nourished by gratitude, contentment, non-attachment, self-surrender, faith and courage. It is about learning to Live from the Fire of Your Soul.
In addition to her traditional Yoga and Ayurveda studies, Julie has also done substantial self-inquiry and self-empowerment work through Yogarupa Rod Stryker’s The Four Desires (Yoga of Fulfillment) process. She is beyond honored to be one of the very first to be personally chosen and trained by Rod as an officially certified Four Desires Trainer.
Julie teaches open classes, workshops, and private sessions mainly in the Dallas-Fort Worth and surrounding area, with occasional guest teaching around the U.S. She shares a divinely graced life with her amazing Aussie husband, Paul. Holding a BA in Spanish and French, it’s no surprise that her other great passion in life is travel and the exploration of other languages and cultures. Above all, Julie enjoys spending precious, priceless moments with her Teacher, Sangha (community) and family…humbly and reverently experiencing the sacred miracle of divine fire, light and love moving through her in all aspects of life.
