Yoga has been part of life for many years, helping me maintain both physical and mental health through developing a career, having a family, going to graduate school, and starting a business. As a licensed professional counselor and yoga teacher, I pay particular attention to how students' mental states are affected by the yoga practice, and whenever possible, I like to provide students an opportunity to verbally process their yoga experience and how it relates to their life circumstances. I teach vinyasa yoga, and was trained at American Power Yoga in 2010. I received my master's degree in counseling from UNT in 2012, and started a private practice in 2014 called Flourish Counseling and Consultation, which is co-located with Sync Yoga and Wellbeing. When appropriate, I use yoga and meditation in the counseling process to help clients connect to their mental processes and the physical states that accompany them.
