David Swenson began practicing yoga in 1969 at the age of 13. His older brother Doug was his first teacher. They practiced hatha yoga from whatever books they could find.

David's introduction to Ashtanga came in 1973 when he met David Williams and Nancy Gilgoff in Encinitas, California. In 1975 David and Nancy brought K. Pattabhi Jois to the U.S. for the first time and Swenson was fortunate enough to be there. Swenson made his first trip to Mysore in 1977.


David Robson is a practitioner and teacher of Ashtanga Yoga, in the tradition of KPJAYI. He is the owner and director of the Ashtanga Yoga Centre of Toronto. David leads one of the world’s largest Mysore programs and travels extensively worldwide teaching Ashtanga yoga.

Taylor Hunt is a devoted student of Ashtanga. He makes yearly trips to India to further his studies at the K. Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute (KPJAYI) under the guidance of his teacher, R. Sharath Jois.

In 2013, after several extended trips, Taylor was granted Level 2 Authorization to teach from KPJAYI and has had the honor of assisting his teacher in India on two separate occasions.

David Williams has been practicing yoga daily, without interruption, since 1971. In 1972, David met K. P. Manju, the son of K. Pattabhi Jois, and saw him demonstrate the Ashtanga Yoga Primary series.

In 1973, David began learning Ashtanga Yoga from K. Pattabhi Jois at his home in Mysore, India, and became the first non-Indian to be taught the complete Ashtanga Yoga system of asanas and pranayama directly from Jois.

Dean Hollingsworth found yoga in 2007 and immediately felt the impact it had upon his physical, mental and spiritual life. As his practice continues to deepen, his life continues to bloom and as a result he seeks to share this experience with others. He earned his 200hr RYT certification in 2012.

Harmony Slater has been teaching Ashtanga Yoga in the Mysore method for over a decade. She was first introduced to Yoga in 1995, and began practicing Ashtanga Yoga in 2000. She always had a keen interest in spirituality and the art of physical movement, which culminated in fifteen years of dance training and two BA degrees in Philosophy and Religious Studies. 

Chelsey Charbeneau has found her life's purpose in helping people become happier and healthier through her own healing journey. When she began practicing yoga she was an unhealthy person who could barely touch her toes. As her practice became more serious and her lifestyle habits changed she started recognizing the therapeutic effects on her mind, body and soul.

Colby is a fully-certified 500 hour Yoga Alliance instructor trained in Rocket, Hatha and Ashtanga styles, as well as a Gold-level PiYo Instructor, freelance choreographer and ACE Health Coach. With a decade of experience as a certified fitness and yoga instructor, Colby's expertise spans a wide variety of disciplines. In 2012, her passion to help others thrive led to the launch of Slice Fitness, one of London's original boutique fitness studios.

David Garrigues is an internationally recognized yoga teacher and creator of the Asana Kitchen video instruction series that is one of leading online yoga learning resources. David is the founder/director of Ashtanga Yoga School (AYS) of Philadelphia and also travels extensively throughout the US, Europe, and India offering workshops, in depth studies and retreats.
