Yin Yoga

My passion for yoga began when my heart was desperate for peace.
My body was aching for balance and everything I had tried so far, wasn't working.
Thankfully...one day, I was given a book that introduced me to something new.
Something that would take me on a new journey.
A journey that would teach me about mindfulness, breath, body awareness,
energy, love and how to connect and fuel my spirit.

Tracy Carruth, E-RYT 500, AYS, BS founded Yoga Balance Studio in McKinney, TX, in 2004. She currently serves as studio director, principal teacher and creator of the Yoga-Alliance Registered 200- and 300-Hour Yoga Balance School. Tracy has been practicing yoga since 1997, which has allowed her great opportunities for deep study and experience.

My yoga therapy practice integrates techinques of  bioenergetics suchas grounding, breath-work, meditation, visualization, and body movements from yoga and somatics to release tension or holding in the body. From this place of release, we work to re-frame the automatic thinking and repetitive responses. It is a dynamic process and one which requires active participation and feedback in each session.

I started practicing asana (yoga exercise) and meditation during my first semester of law school at The University of Miami. Go Canes! From 2002-2008, I sought out yoga classes in every gym I joined, in each town my career took me to. Then I started studying yoga philosophy, and incorporating it as a lifestyle. Following my pursuit of knowledge, I attended a 200-hour teacher training program, at a hot power yoga studio, in the Fall of 2009.

Debbi K. Levy is a native Texan who grew up doing gymnastics . As a busy mother of three children, she found it difficult to feel those wonderful feelings one receives through deep body movement, and she missed the confidence you gain meeting new physical challenges the way she had experienced as a teenager. Although walking many miles for exercise was invigorating, it wasn't until she discovered Yoga that her physical self and mental self came together in a place of contentment.

Debbie Simon, E-RYT500 Debbie has been teaching yoga since 2007 and has been in the health and wellness field since 1999. She received her RYT-200 and RYT-500 training through Blue Anjou’s Breathe into Awareness teacher training program. Known for her down to earth personality, her classes are meditative in structure without losing the physical aspect. She firmly believes meditation is the foundation of a holistic yoga practice. She is inspired by the rituals and routines of Ayurveda, yoga’s sister science, as well as its emphasis on vegetarian food.

Over 30 years ago I began to practice yoga. It opened my body and mind to the power that resided in me to shape my life, and led me to explore other aspects of health and fitness. Through the years, I’ve accumulated thousands of hours of hands-on experience and an extensive background in Yoga Asana, Yoga Therapy, Meditation, Ayurveda, Anatomy and Physiology, Nutrition, Pilates, and Exercise Science.
