Mike is a professional Yoga Instructor from Dallas, TX, with over 6 years experience teaching full time. He has taught group classes, workshops, retreats, and private lessons to all levels of practitioners in over 40 studio locations. He is well known for his dedication to daily personal practice, and love of outdoor practice, particularly classical Surya Namaskara. Mike has trained with several master teachers, including Srivatsa Ramaswami, David Williams, Rodney Yee & Colleen Saidman, Shiva Rea, Annie Carpenter, Rod Stryker, Bryce Delbridge, Ricky Tran, Ganga Puri, and others.

I teach in a manner that is accessible to all levels and body types. As a large male I have a good understanding of the challenges extra pounds can present. My classes are presented with many modifications for each pose. I believe strongly in bringing humor to the class while still respecting the practice.

I thought my yoga journey began in 1999 but I’ve actually been on it my entire life. Raised in a traditional, Christian, southern home in Southeast Arkansas, my parents taught me that things were never hopeless, not to let people or events affect you, that material things will not make you happy, and to live for today. (They were true yogis and they didn’t even know it!) They were and are the two most influential people in my life. They passed away in ’96 and ’99 and my yoga practice started then. Like so many others yoga helped me through some very challenging times.

Leslie Storms has been on a healing journey since she entered this world. She has extensive yoga training and her opportunities for travel have afforded her countless blessings to work with some of the most prominent yoga teachers. She holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing and she has worked extensively in the operating room. Leslie has a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy. She is published in Marriage and Family Therapy: A Practice Oriented Approach. She serves as a brand representative for Ahnu Footwear, Dino Apparel, and Balini Active .

Jennifer Buergermeister is the founder of the pioneering and popular Houston yoga studio Jennyoga located in Houston since July 2007. In the same year Jenny organized Breathe the Cure, Inc. 501c3. Jenny is also the current president and originating founder of One Yoga USA, Breathe the Cure, the Texas Yoga Association and Texas Yoga Conference. Jenny became a successful political activist for yoga in 2010 changing two laws in the state of Texas to protect yoga from unnecessary regulation, saving the teacher training programs in Texas from closing down.

Carol began studying Yoga in 1973, started teaching part time in 1980, and since 1990 has operated a holistic yoga and bodywork practice near Dallas. She is owner and director of Namaste' USA Yoga, a yoga teacher training school based on Vanda Scaravelli's teachings. Credentialed by Yoga Alliance, the school offers 200 and 500 hour certifications. Carol's master yoga teacher is Donna Farhi, with whom she has studied annually since 1994.

Jessica Wozniak has been practicing and teaching yoga for more than 15 years. She’s a 200-hour certified yoga instructor (Yoga Alliance RYS) with more than 1000 hours of teaching experience, including private and group classes, yoga therapy and Vedic Thai Yoga.

She learned Vedic Thai Yoga from Mukti Michael Buck and Mary Elizabeth Sheehan of the Vedic Thai Conservatory. She has completed more than 125 hours of hands-on training, and provided more than 400 hours of private sessions.

Dawndy is the owner of changingBODS changingLIVES YOGA and is passionate about teaching others to love oneself by teaching lifetime tools to reduce stress, achieve emotional balance, enhance cognition and to reach their maximum physical and emotional well being.

Dawndy specializes in Yoga Therapy working with individuals to reduce chronic pain/fatigue and/or improve athletic performance by understanding what leads to their pain cycles and shifting that experience by removing pain, improving flexibility and strength, retraining connective tissue and preventing common injuries.

About Alice Redding – STRIPES Founder and Author Alice Redding is a Registered Children’s Yoga Teacher, Licensed Dyslexia Therapist and a Certified Academic Language Therapist, specializing in school age children. Alice has practiced yoga for over 40 years and has over 30+ years of teaching experience with children and adults. Through her specialization in yoga and children’s learning therapy, Alice has helped hundreds of adolescents and children regain self-confidence and the skills needed to succeed in school and at home.
